CHROMA 000: Translating Frequency into Fabric

Some music you listen to. Bicep, you experience.

2024 was the year I didn't just listen; I followed the sound. It became a bit of a pilgrimage. It started under the sun at Hideout, went deep into the industrial sweatbox of The Warehouse Project (WHP) in Manchester, and culminated in the heat of Sónar Barcelona.

Three times in one year. And every time, the visual language hit me just as hard as the kick drum.

The Prototypes: 001, 002, 003
My design journey mirrored their setlist. I didn't start with the finished product. I started with CHROMA 001, 002, and 003. These were my early attempts to translate that evolving Bicep aesthetic onto cotton—trying to capture that specific blend of nostalgia and futurism.

Then came Brillo. Released shortly after the Chroma project kicked off, Brillo was my reaction to the harder, rawer edge they were teasing.

Tracking the Data
When the Chroma label officially launched, the sound shifted. It became sharper. More mechanical. I followed every single drop—from the airy texture of Helium to the jagged rhythm of Tangz II, the weight of Steel, and the euphoria of A.L.O.E.

Each track felt like a piece of code being uploaded to the system. The visuals changed from organic gradients to raw data, system errors, and acid-green grids.

Enter CHROMA 000
This t-shirt is the culmination of that year-long journey. It’s my tribute to the Chroma era.

I moved away from the clean lines of the early 001-003 prototypes and embraced the glitch. The CHROMA 000 design features a corrupted visual data stream—a mix of neon cyan and acid green cutting through the noise. It looks like a screen freezing at the exact moment the lasers hit at WHP.

Not Just a T-Shirt
This isn't official merch. It’s a fan tribute from one creative to another. It’s for the people who were there in the crowd with me, from Barcelona to Manchester, feeling the bass rattle their chest.

It’s for those who know that Techno isn't just a genre; it's a frequency.

Wear the glitch.
